You can get to Carcassonne from the UK via air - flying www.flybe.com (from Southampton, Birmingham and Bristol to Toulouse), Airfrance and British Airways (from Heathrow and Gatwick respectively), also to Toulouse, or you can fly Ryanair direct from Standsted to Carcassonne.
For those bringing a car; you can use either the Channel Ports, and then drive through France, or take the longer sea-route (24 hours) from Plymouth to Santander near Bilbao in Northern Spain.
