Name     Location & Comments l'Auberge du Chateau     In the Château de Cavenac, a lovely village near Carcassonne, and about 25 minutes drive from here. The restaurant is in the old stables, and the menu is amazing! Five courses, including wine, for 36 euros per person! Great for groups, or just the two of you! l'Oeil     In Carcassonne, a small, very friendly, family-run restaurant specialising in grills (steaks, magret, etc) which are cooked by le patron on an open wood fire in the corner of the restaurant. Menus at around 13 and 16 euros, excluding wine. Hardly ever see tourists either, as it is mainly "locals", not being in the town centre! le Clos Occitain     Also in Carcassonne, this is a really nice restaurant, with superb food and wine list, more "sophisticated" than the two above, but still with very friendly service. There is also a lovely outside, well-sheltered, terrace for summer. You are advised to book in busy periods. la Divine Comédie     Lively restaurant opposite le Palais de Justice in Carcassonne, so easy to find! Excellent grills, pizzas, and pastas, and a lovely shaded area outside. Inexpensive, and great for either lunch or dinner.
